A huge thank you to Solomon Concessio for all his organisation which enabled this to happen. We would also like to thank the adult helpers on the day Paul Smart, Rachel Porteus, Alastair Henshaw and Shayne Venn.

The OJFC annual prizegiving was held on 30th August 2015 with over 760 children attending. Noah Billingsley was the special guest, interviewed by our President Steve Ware. Noah then spent time between each of the 3 prizegiving sessions signing autographs on footballs, shorts, shoes and certificates and chatting with the children.

There were approximately 240 certificates handed out awarding the following 3 categories for each team – Most Improved Player, Most Committed Player and the Most Valuable Player.  40 children received the OJFC banner which represents long service at the club and exiting in G14, their final year with OJFC. From Grade 9 through to Grade 14 an individual player is selected to be the Player of the Grade, which are our most coveted awards.

Ex-Onslow Players now Junior All Whites & Onslow Girls named in NZ U17 Training Camp

Noah Billingsley and Clayton Lewis have both just represented New Zealand in the Junior All Whites team at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup. It was a great experience for so many young aspiring OJFC players to watch Noah and Clayton play against Myanmar in Wellington in the U20 World cup match. Not only did New Zealand win that match 5-1 but both Noah and Clayton scored a goal a piece. The Junior All Whites qualified out of the pool games and into the last 16 for the first time ever.

Noah played for the ‘A Streamed’ team – Onslow Bandipurs from Grade 10 -14. Clayton Lewis played for the Grade 14 ‘A streamed’ team the Onslow Imrans.

OJFC are also very proud to announce that 2 Ex-Onslow girls Ella Wilson and Francesca Grange and current Onslow player Maggie Jenkins are all named in the NZ U17 Training camp in July 2015.  The purpose of the training camp is to build up towards qualifying for the 2016 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. This is a fantastic achievement.

Please visit our Success Stories page to follow the stories of other successful Onslow players.
