Onslow wins KCU Easter Football Tournament

Kapiti Coast United held their Annual Easter Club Tournament over 3 days – Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday for Grades 10-14 and U17.

This year, for the first time since 1991, Onslow Junior Football Club were the overall tournament winners, which is made even more amazing by the fact that we don’t enter a team in the U17 division.

Please visit our tournaments page for more details.

Football boots donated are on their way to Cannons Creek school

Nicki Sutherland has informed us that she is going out to the first cannons creek school on Thursday March 17th (am) to hand out all of the wonderful football boots which were donated throughout the year from Onslow Junior Football Club. There is a possibility of a second Cannons Creek school, but is currently on hold depending on how many boots are left over.  If there are any volunteers who would like to help hand out the boots this Thursday 17th March then please contact Nicki on njc_sutherland@yahoo.com.au as soon as possible.

An update on the success of the event will be given later.

The OJFC annual prizegiving was held on 30th August 2015 with over 760 children attending. Noah Billingsley was the special guest, interviewed by our President Steve Ware. Noah then spent time between each of the 3 prizegiving sessions signing autographs on footballs, shorts, shoes and certificates and chatting with the children.

There were approximately 240 certificates handed out awarding the following 3 categories for each team – Most Improved Player, Most Committed Player and the Most Valuable Player.  40 children received the OJFC banner which represents long service at the club and exiting in G14, their final year with OJFC. From Grade 9 through to Grade 14 an individual player is selected to be the Player of the Grade, which are our most coveted awards.

A big thank you for sponsorship from the Infinity Foundation

The Infintiy Foundation have recently provided OJFC with a grant of $2,000 which was used to part fund the purchase of 19 sets of goal nets for the Club.  The purchase of these nets has allowed for a greatly enhanced playing experience for a large number of the Club’s members and OJFC would like to record our gratitude to Infinity.
