Girls and Women in refereeing evening

This season, Capital Football is refreshing and relaunching its initiative for the female refereeing community – running regular events designed to support, develop, and create a social platform for our members. These gatherings offer a relaxed, informal, and mutually supportive environment where we can talk, listen, learn, and support each other’s refereeing journey, whatever that looks like for you.

Our first event is on Monday 13 April 2026, from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the Petone FC Club Room (next door to the Capital Football offices).

We are delighted to have highly experienced New Zealand Football referee and referee coach Helen Mallon joining us. Helen will share insights from her own refereeing journey along with practical advice and coaching tips.

This is a fantastic opportunity, whether you’ve been refereeing for years, are newly qualified this season, or have simply been curious about what refereeing involves and never quite taken the leap. Come along, see what it’s all about, and meet some great people along the way.
