2023 Women’s Only Coach the Coaches

As part of our long term strategic plan, OJFC aims to strengthen and grow the participation of women in coaching.

This season we have engaged the services of Bri Krekoski – an experienced B-License (Canada) coach with many years experience leading both youth and adult teams. Bri’s specialty is youth and female development and has been assisting Merrick with various sessions in our development programme. She is trained as a C-License Goal Keeper Coach, and is part way through completing her certification as a C-License coach developer with NZF. Outside of football she is certified as a Master Facilitator and Coach Developer in various Fitness Leadership Courses with Western University and Alberta Leadership Association in Canada. Bri’s professional work is a private consultancy where she assists non-profits, companies, and individuals in program development/evaluation, strategic planning and performance optimisation.

Bri will also be offering a women’s only coaches clinic – for women who coach teams, manage teams, prospective coaches and women with an interest in extending their involvement in the game.

Join us for a Women’s Coaching Clinic on Sunday 12th March from 2-4:30pm at the Nairnville artificial turf.

Bri will cover a range of topics from the practical aspects of being a coach – some topics will include: planning your sessions, progressing your team’s training and catering your coaching to the age, gender, traits and needs of your footballers, to keep them engaged, connected and happy.

There is SO much more to building our capacity and confidence as female coaches than the X’s and O’s. Bri’s ultimate goal is to center this training around the goals you needs of YOU – the participants. Whether it is confidence, self- and player advocacy, or conflict resolution, please let us know YOUR goals. You’re now part of a coaching network where we never stop learning and supporting!

We know that Bri is an inspirational speaker and a talented coach; we want you to leave this session confidently, with a women’s coaching network  and coach’s toolset ready for the season ahead.

Check out this video that Bri made for a recent interview if you want to get to know her a bit better.

CLICK THIS LINK to let Bri know you’re going to attend. This is a free course.

You are also welcome to attend two further club-wide Coach the Coaches sessions with Merrick on 26th March and 2nd April.
