It was an all Onslow final for Grade 7 at the Days Bay Festival of Football, which meant the club came 1st and 2nd in the tournament. A wonderful opportunity for the children to take part i such an event and also a great achievement to come away as winners and runners up.
Om March 20th it was a gloriously sunny day and OJFC Grade 13 children provided the ball kids for the Phoenix game against Perth Glory. The children were given 1.5 hours instruction prior to heading out to the field. The most important instruction they had to remember was to keep the game moving and to always keep your eyes on the game. The Phoenix coordinator praised the behaviour and performance of the children from Onslow, which was wonderful to hear.

Kapiti Coast United held their Annual Easter Club Tournament over 3 days – Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday for Grades 10-14 and U17.
This year, for the first time since 1991, Onslow Junior Football Club were the overall tournament winners, which is made even more amazing by the fact that we don’t enter a team in the U17 division.

Come and check out the new Northern Hills Football Pathway launching Sunday 20th March at Alex Moore Artificial Turf 11.30am – 5pm. A family fun day will involve:
Food and Coffee available.
It has been created to ensure that players from all the Junior Clubs and Colleges are aware that there is a Football pathway available in their neighbourhood once they go to College – ultimately being able to play for the local Senior Football Club – North Wellington AFC, who have just been promoted to Capital 1.
Steps have been taken to ensure that training programmes are available for Junior players; and that College players will be mentored so they can maximise their footballing programme. Come down and see what it is all about.

Nicki Sutherland has informed us that she is going out to the first cannons creek school on Thursday March 17th (am) to hand out all of the wonderful football boots which were donated throughout the year from Onslow Junior Football Club. There is a possibility of a second Cannons Creek school, but is currently on hold depending on how many boots are left over. If there are any volunteers who would like to help hand out the boots this Thursday 17th March then please contact Nicki on njc_sutherland@yahoo.com.au as soon as possible.
An update on the success of the event will be given later.
