FAQs

When does the 2025 season start/end?

  • The start date for the 2025 season (U7 – U15) will be the weekend of the 3rd May. The season ends on the weekend of 30th August.
  • Players in teams playing in the Capital Development League (CDL) start on 27th April and end on the 27th September.

I’m having problem registering – where can I get help?

  • Please contact the Registrations Co-ordinator on registrations@onslow.org.nz for assistance.  We aim to answer all emails within 24 hours.

I have enrolled but how do I pay the subs?

  • The easier and preferred method of payment is by credit card when registering.  You can pay later by either credit card or bank deposit.
  • If paying later by credit card, login to Friendly Manager and select the “Fees” button on your console. Then select the “Pay Fees” button in the top right of the screen. Note that credit card payments incur a handling fee (2.9% plus 30c Stripe transaction fee).
  • If you would prefer to pay via internet banking, the details can be found here

What is the Bank Account Number for OJFC ?

  • The bank account details for the club are:
  • Bank: Westpac
  • Bank Account Number: 03 1536 0001073 000
  • Bank Account Name: Onslow Junior Football Club

When will I find out what team my child is in?

  • Teams will be formed as quickly as possible after Registration has closed. Grade Coordinators will email team member information to each family within your team.

I would like my child/ren to play in a team with their friends.  Is this possible?

  • As part of the registration process, you are able to list friends that your child would like to play with.  As much as possible we will try to accommodate your requests however this is not guaranteed.  OJFC acknowledges that children enjoy playing with their friends so we do try to place friends and children from the same school in teams together.

Where can I find information about relating to my child’s football grade?

What is the OJFC uniform and where can I get it from?

  • OJFC’s uniform is a team shirt, red shorts and red socks with green tops.
  • A team shirt will be provided by the club at the start of the season and is returned at season close.
  • Socks and shorts can be purchased new from Inter Football. Inter Football also has a lot of additional Onslow “merchandise” available to buy. These are optional items, if your footballer would like them, and are not part of our compulsory uniform.
  • Shin pads are compulsory and are available from Inter Football and other sporting goods suppliers.  Boots are compulsory from grades 7 and above but are highly recommended for First Kicks as the fields can get a little muddy later in the season.
  • We do not have a second hand uniform sale, but please keep an eye out on our Facebook page specifically for second hand gear, Trade Me and other local Buy and Sell websites.

Can my child play in a different Grade?

  • The NZ Football national body expects all children to play in the correct grade based on their year of birth.  OJFC abides by this policy.  Only in very extraordinary circumstances will we consider allowing a child to play in a different grade.  If you wish to discuss this further, please contact registrations@onslow.org.nz
  • Starting in 2022, there is now potential for children in grades U7 and U8 only to play up or down half an age grade to join a team with their school friends. Please have a look at the Fun Football page for more information.
  • Please note that female players are able to choose to play one grade down.

Where will my child be playing?

  • Age group Location
First Kicks 5 to 6 year olds Raroa Intermediate
Fun Football 7 to 8 year olds Raroa Park

How do I Turn the Lights on for the Nairnville Grass Pitches?

  • If you have a training session which requires the floodlights to be switched on for the grass pitches at Nairnville, the switch can be found on the lamp post in the far southwest corner.
