Below is the latest update from New Zealand Football regarding community football:

Community football postponement extended until at least Queen’s Birthday weekend

New Zealand Football and the seven Federations have announced that the community football postponement has been extended until at least Queen’s Birthday Weekend (Saturday 30 May 2020), due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

With the country still in Alert Level 4, the extended postponement gives the football community new guidance on when NZF aims to resume play, providing it’s safe to do so.

• Community football, including junior, youth, senior and social competitions – start postponed until at least 30 May
• Community futsal including junior, youth, senior and social competitions – start postponed until at least 30 May
• National Futsal Tournaments scheduled in June and July have been cancelled – including the Youth Futsal Championships. All other national tournaments remain under review
• Workshops and courses, including coaching and refereeing – all postponed until at least 30 May

All football clubs are still taking registrations for the 2020 season.

All team training should be suspended until 16 May, or two weeks prior to the start of the season.

NZF is delighted with the football community’s responsible attitude under lockdown, and is sharing resources to help players stay fit, work on their skills and keep entertained at www.nzfootball.co.nz and on social media.

Dear Members, We hope everyone is keeping well and healthy. It is with much sadness and necessary resignation that, with immediate effect, we have postponed all OJFC activities.  Please see the statement below from Capital Football regarding New Zealand Football recommendations for the 2020 football season due to the Covid-19 situation: 

In accordance with New Zealand Football’s recommendations, Capital Football have decided to postpone all Capital Football activity until the 2^nd of May with games and courses to be rescheduled in accordance to this new start date. In accordance with the guidelines all trainings, small group skill centres and activities, including meetings, are to be postponed and can commence two weeks (18^th of April) prior to this start date. These dates are subject to change due to the ever-evolving situation.

All current pre-season tournaments including the Kelly Cup have also been postponed.

Furthermore, in conjunction with Petone, the Hilton Petone Division 1 Final and Division 2 Semi Finals have been postponed until further notice.

We understand this is a very trying time for everybody and we will continue to provide as much information as possible. We also recommend referring to the guidelines available on the MoH website for further guidance.

Please find attached a question and answer sheet that we hope will provide more information on the steps and processes that we are putting in place.

Details:

Football | All football is postponed until May 2^nd

Trainings | Can commence 2 weeks before the start of the season

Futsal | All futsal has been cancelled immediately

Courses | All courses will be postponed and rescheduled from May 2^nd

Hilton Petone Cup | Postponed until further notice

Meetings l Chair’s meeting and AGM are postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date

Another great weekend for OJFC at Tournaments in Island Bay and Masterton. Despite the wet weather our teams had a great time with some excellent results.

Wellington United Extra Time Tournament, Island Bay

• G7 Ravi’s – Won their pool
• G8 Birla’s – Won their pool
• G8 Ambalas – 2nd in their pool
• G8 Golden Boot winner – Connor Bowen
• G11 GOSL Fitzroys – Won the G 11/12 top division.

Douglas Villa Tournament, Masterton

• G12 Gurkhas – Won the G12 Tournament

Onslow had a strong showing at this years Wests tournament held over the weekend. Our club teams playing well across all grades, with the G10 Amristars and the G14 Agras of note finishing overall 2nd in their comps. Thanks to the West’s club for putting on a great weekend!
